Amendments to Communities in Motion 2040 2.0

 

Certain circumstances can lead to the need to formally amend a long-range transportation plan, such as Communities in Motion 2040 2.0. These circumstances include adding or removing projects funded through the plan, changes in federal requirements that need to be addressed before the next scheduled plan update, or changes in policies established in the plan.

AMENDMENT #10 (OCTOBER 2022)

 

Purpose: Add new funded projects to the short-term and long-term funded project lists to mirror the updates to the Idaho Transportation Department’s and local agencies’ plans and budgets. See list of changes.

 

AMENDMENT #9 (FEBRUARY 2022)

 

Purpose: Add a planning and environmental linkages (PEL) study in the City of Kuna for the realignment of the State Highway 69 (Meridian Road) and Kuna Road intersection and the extension of Meridian Road south to Kuna Mora Road, including overpasses over the Union Pacific Railroad and Indian Creek.

 

AMENDMENT #8 (DECEMBER 2021)

 

Purpose: To review traffic patterns on Interstate 84 from Meridian Road in the City of Meridian to the WYE Interchange in the City of Boise and evaluate and design the addition of an auxiliary lane between the Meridian Road Interchange and the Eagle Road Interchange in the City of Meridian, including an additional lane and shoulder on the east-bound on- and off-ramps.

 

AMENDMENT #7 (OCTOBER 2021)

 

Public Comment Periods: August 2 – 31, 2021 and September 3-17, 2021

 

Purpose: Add new funded projects to the short-term and long-term funded project lists and remove one project from the long-term funded project list to mirror the updates to the Idaho Transportation Department’s and local agencies’ plans and budgets. See list of changes.

 

AMENDMENT #6 (AUGUST 2021)

 

Purpose: To add four funded projects to (1) conduct a study to determine needed improvements on Interstate 84 from State Highway 44 to Centennial Way in Caldwell, (2) develop design and purchase right-of-way for eventual widening on Interstate 84 from Centennial Way to Franklin Road in the City of Caldwell, (3) develop design and purchase right-of-way for eventual widening of the Interstate 84 Karcher Road interchange in the City of Nampa, and (4) conduct a study to determine needs and weigh options for a southern connection from the City of Nampa to Interstate 84, between McDermott Road and Robinson Road.

    • List and map of unfunded needs (state system)

AMENDMENT #5 (APRIL 2021)

 

Purpose: To add a project for Valley Regional Transit to enhance public transportation facilities and vehicles on the State Street Premium Corridor in the City of Boise.

    • List of funded projects (short-term funded)
    • List of unfunded needs (public transportation system)

AMENDMENT #4 (MARCH 2021)

 

Purpose: To widen the westbound Interstate 84 off-ramp at State Highway 44 (Exit 25), just west of the City of Caldwell, install traffic signal and improve sight distance.

AMENDMENT #3 (FEBRUARY 2021)

 

Purpose: Adds an Ada County Highway District (ACHD) and Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) joint project to begin preliminary design and an environmental study to replace the Five Mile Road overpass over Interstate 84 and widen the bridge from two lanes to four lanes, and widen Five Mile Road from two lanes to five lanes from Smoke Ranch Drive to Franklin Road in the City of Boise. Work includes curb, gutter, sidewalks, and enhanced bike lanes on both sides of the roadway.

AMENDMENT #2 (OCTOBER 2020)

 

Purpose: To mirror updates to Capital Improvement Programs for the Ada County Highway District, City of Caldwell, City of Nampa, and Nampa Highway District No. 1.

AMENDMENT #1 (JUNE 2020)

 

Purpose: To add a National Environmental Policy Act alternatives analysis to realign State Highway 45 (12th Avenue South) through the City of Nampa from Sheridan Avenue to 1st Street South, with connections to I-84 on Northside Boulevard.
